HBSC Cancelation and Refund Policy

For on-water courses, one date change will be allowed within the same season, up to 14 days prior to the course start date (for weekend and evening courses – this is the start of the theory portion of the course) free of charge. Re-booking based on course availability. There is no rescheduling allowed within 14 days of a course starting - cancellation policies apply.
For cancellations more than 30 days prior to the start of an on-water course, fees will be refunded, less 15% cancellation fee and the price of any distributed course materials. (ie: Text books)
For cancellations 10-30 days prior to the course start date, 25% of the course fee will be retained plus the price of any distributed course materials.
For cancellation within 10 days of the course start date (theory course) or after the course has started, there will be no refunds.

Live Aboard Courses
Intermediate Cruising & Mileage Builders - Lake Ontario (Toronto)
Reserving your spot:
Students may book their spot with a 50% deposit with the remainder of fees due 45 days before the course commences. Failure to pay the remaining fees may result in the cancelation of the reservation and forfeiture of payment. All HBSC courses are subject to HST payable with each instalment. Instalments are automatically configured in the registration system and are automatically charge to the credit card on file on the date of the second instalment. 

Cancelations & Refunds:
In the event the course is cancelled by HBSC, a participant is entitled to reschedule the course or withdraw from the course with no cancellation fee. In the event the course cannot be rescheduled, the full course fees will be refunded. 
Participants may cancel their course booking and receive a full refund (less 10% admin processing fee) up to 12 weeks before the start of their course. Notification must be received in writing and refunds take 10-14 days to process. 
For cancellations between 11 and 6 weeks prior to the start of the course, participants will receive a refund less 25%. For cancellation between 5 and 2 weeks prior to the start of the course, participants will receive a refund less 50%. 
For cancellation within 2 weeks of the start of the course, there will be no refunds.

All of the above policies apply to the Kingston (Thousand Islands) Cruising Courses with the additional polices below. 

Transportation and Transfers:
Students are responsible to arrange their own transportation to and from the Kingston & to and from Portsmouth Marina. Students are responsible for parking fees (where applicable). Students are responsible for any additional transportation (Taxi, Uber) incurred while in Kingston area. Students are advised NOT to purchase transportation until the course has been confirmed.When the course is confirmed, students will be advised by HBSC.
